Whitman History

Forest, golf course, anti-aircraft facilities, Junior High, and now Middle School, the land for Whitman Middle School has undergone many changes in its history.
Read the history of Whitman via the SPS archives.

Whitman opened its doors in 1959 and has been shaping the lives of middle schoolers for 67 years!

In 1996 the PTA organized a new track, soccer field, and baseball field west of the school with support from community organizations.

Today, Whitman is a thriving and diverse community that offers students the opportunity to become confident, self-reliant young people. We are proud to be Wildcats and continue to help every student reach their potential.
